TrapZone News & Media

August 11, 2009. TrapZoneUsa.com has some bad news – Lisa and Ed Hartwell from the Real Housewives Of Atlanta were just put out their house. Here’s the report – from one of TrapZoneUsa.com’s faithful:
Lisa Wu Hartwell of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" [in early July] vacated the multimillion dollar mansion located outside of Atlanta in Duluth , GA. The house that they just moved out of is the house that was featured on season 1 as well as season 2.

The house is located at 7865 St. Marlo Fairway Drive Duluth, GA 30097. The house is not currently listed for sale. Don't worry about getting a pic of it, [It's] a highly gated community, lol.

They scrambled to get out of the house to avoid being put out by the bank and or the Marshalls. Ed Hartwell who is an ex-football player reportedly has not played football in two years due to an injury and has not been able to maintain a job since then. Lisa is in the real estate business, well you know how that market is doing right now.

We've since learned that the house was sold for $1.9 million - that's $1 million less than they owed on their mortgage.

Philadelphia police officers involved in the videotaped beating of three suspects after a car chase won't be charged with crimes, according to a grand jury that found no excessive use of force.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The widely seen news footage of the violent police stop in May 2008 does not tell the whole story, District Attorney Lynne Abraham said Thursday.

Officers considered the shooting suspects armed and dangerous, and in keeping with department policy did not beat or kick them once they were handcuffed, she said.

"We found that the design of the force applied by the police was helpful rather than hurtful; the kicks and blows, in other words, were aimed not to inflict injury but to facilitate quick and safe arrests," the grand jury said in the report, which followed a 14-month investigation.

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey fired four officers and disciplined four others after analyzing tape of the arrest, which he said gave the department "a black eye." Ramsey stood by that decision Thursday, while the police union vowed a fight to overturn it.

The aerial footage shows a swarm of officers descending on the car after a 2 1/2-mile chase, then smashing a window and pulling the men out to beat and kick them, in at least one case with a police baton.

The suspects — Pete Hopkins, Dwayne Dyches and Brian Hall — have since been acquitted of the triple shooting earlier that night for which they were being pursued.

All three suspects are black, but so are the majority of the 23 people on the grand jury, Abraham said. Most of the 18 city police on the scene were white.

"It's important not to form conclusions based on a mere film, without context," Abraham said. "We think that good people will understand what police did and why."

Critics suggest that police closing in on the suspects' car thought it contained a fugitive sought in that week's slaying of a police sergeant.

The grand jury report could bolster the fired officers' efforts to return to the force.

"They should all be made whole, whether they were suspended, demoted or fired," said John McNesby, president of the Fraternal Order of Police local. "These guys are out there doing their jobs and they have seconds to make a decision. ... They all did a good job."

The police commissioner testified before the grand jury, as did the officers and the three suspects.

At a news conference Thursday, Ramsey called some of the force used that night "indiscriminate" and "excessive."

"In my opinion, all the actions were not justified," he said.

Defense lawyers for the suspects voiced outrage over Thursday's announcement. At their recent attempted-murder trial, the videotaped beating was "the elephant in the room," as the prosecutor put it. Jurors viewed it several times.

"Violence and aggression by police has crept its way into the culture, and ordinary people have come to accept that aggression," said lawyer Mary T. Maran, who represents Hopkins and plans to sue the city on his behalf. "In turning a blind eye to police brutality, we pave the way for more and more of it."

Lil Wayne’s ex wife Toya is dating an NFL baller with a checkered past. As we told you before he was arrested for BEATING his baby’s mother.

Well the baller, James Hardy wanted to reach out to us to explain why he plead guilty to beating his baby’s mother. Here it goes:

I am shocked and disappointed by people's efforts to destroy my character. I am a God-fearing man, and I would never place my hands on the mother of my child or my son. In fact, my son has been an inspiration to me and to my accomplishments and I hold deep respect for my former girlfriend for raising my son. As in many relationships, my ex-girlfriend and I had an argument that was blown out of proportion. My ex-girlfriend called the police and I was arrested. As a student athlete, I did not have the money to defend myself in a criminal trial; therefore, I agreed to take part in a six-month diversion program.

As a result, the charges were dismissed and at the hearing on June 13, 2007, my ex-girlfriend recanted her statements and testified that she phoned 911 in an effort to "get at" me for the problems we were having in the relationship at the time. During the time of the incident, our relationship was being affected due to my hectic athletic schedule.

This incident took place three years ago when I was a college student at Indiana University.

Currently, I am a professional athlete who realizes that children look up to me and that I have a duty to conduct myself appropriately. As partners in parenting, my ex-girlfriend and I maintain an amicable relationship. I have moved on and am happy with my life. Despite the negative media coverage, I am striving to achieve my maximum potential in life and focus on my career.

Hopefully he’s learned from the situation … we’d hate for he and Toya to have any “blown out of control” arguments that lead to police being called and dudes pleading GUILTY!!!

New releases from Michael Buble, rockers Kiss, and country singer Toby Keith dominated during this week's Billboard 200, but Jay-Z and Mariah are still making their presence known within the top 10 while Fat Joe and Saigon fail to make major impacts.

Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3 moved up one notch to no. 5 this week, selling 65,000 to help him reach the platinum mark, while Mariah Carey's latest Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel slipped four spots to no. 7 with 54,000 copies sold.

The last urban release within the top 20 is Whitney Houston's I Look To You, landing at no. 13 with 36,000 copies sold this week.

As far as new releases, there's Fat Joe's J.O.S.E. 2, and Saigon's indie release Warning Shots 2.

Joey Crack's J.O.S.E. 2 album opens at a disppointing no. 73, selling just 8,300 copies, while Saigon's release sells just 3,100 copies.

And that wraps things up this week.

According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Oct. 11) totaled 6.27 million units, down 9% compared to the sum last week (6.87 million) and down 2% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (6.41 million).

The homie Jayson Rodriguez broke the news.
It looks like Shyne’s homecoming is on hold for the moment.

The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez.

But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.

“Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined,” the rep said in a message to MTV News. Shyne attorney Oscar Michelen emphasized to MTV News on Tuesday afternoon that Shyne has not been released, contrary to media reports.

In August, a lawyer for Shyne said the rapper was “90 percent of the way home” after a judge ruled on his post-release supervision. The rapper received two and a half years of post-release supervision (probation, essentially) stemming from his conviction on first-degree assault and a host of other lesser charges. At the time of his sentencing, an official with the Department of Correction confirmed to MTV News that Shyne would have to complete at least eight years and seven months of his prison sentence.

For years, though, Shyne’s release date has been the subject of much confusion. Michelen acknowledged the subject had become urban legend, as the rumors started yearly that his client would be released. Michelen told MTV News in August that he believed a clerical error led to the incorrect assumptions.

“I think [the basis for the rumor] was created by a computer,” he explained, “because the Department of Corrections has a Web site where you can do an inmate lookup. And if you have the information, it will show you that [Shyne's] earlier release date was originally April [of this year] and then June. And we don’t now how that was in there. But it showed that. And then what would happen is before a release date, [an inmate] would get produced before a parole board, and in the institution, there would be rumors that [Shyne] was up for parole. I guess inmates or guards would spread the rumor.”

At press time, the status of Shyne’s release from prison remained unclear.

Jay-Z may be giving Bruh-man (”fif’ flo’”) a run for his money. The rapper, who, by the way, made $35 million this year, is married to one of the most beautiful women in the world, has had 11 out of 11 studio albums hit #1, and seems to overall lead a pretty good life, recently admitted to enjoying giving all his (probably less famous) neighbors a hard time…just because.
He told BBC radio, “My neighbors didn’t want me in the building. It was a whole big thing; it was really racist. They didn’t want me in so I bought the biggest place there. They have a board and voting is based on how much of the property share you have, so I have the biggest share and I go down just to vote on things I don’t care about just to tick ‘em off.”

He continued, “I guess they think I’m having parties and there’s shootings going on, but I have normal breakfasts and lunches. My friends come over - accountants and bankers - and I make them all wear black so the neighbors think they’re gangsters. It’s fun.”

Look out Jay Z – cause Dame Dash is about to put your business out in the streets.

An insider told Trapzone.ning.com that Dame has signed on to pen a brand new autobiography. And in it, he’ll dedicate a few chapters of the book specifically to discuss Jay Z.

Trapzone.ning.com's snitch claims that Dame will give explicit details on Jay Z’s many relationships with women, his behind the scene beefs with other rappers, and some of the biggest business failures of Jigga’s career.

But there’s one topic that Dame won’t be discussing – and that’s Beyonce. The insider told trapzone.ning.com that Dame has the “utmost respect for Beyonce” and he’s not looking to cause her any embarrassment.

Wow!! It would have been nice to hear some good Beyonce gossip. But I guess we can live with some good ole Jay Z groupie tales ...

BOSTON — Boston police said they had suspended an officer for a racist email likely to renew tensions over the recent arrest of black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates.

"Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis placed Officer Justin Barrett, 36, on administrative leave pending the outcome of a termination hearing," a spokesman for the force told AFP in a statement.

"Commissioner Davis was made aware of a correspondence with racist remarks and yesterday removed the officer of his gun and badge."

The email describes Gates, who was arrested and briefly detained earlier this month at Harvard, near Boston, as a "banana-eating jungle monkey," according to a copy published by news site MyFoxBoston.com.

The city's mayor, Tom Menino, was quoted referring to Barrett as a "cancer in the department" and calling on him to be fired.

Gates became the center of a national debate on racism when he was charged with disorderly conduct after arguing with police sent to investigate a suspected burglary at his home near Harvard University.

President Barack Obama became embroiled in the uproar when he said police acted "stupidly." On Thursday, Obama is due to host both Gates and the arresting officer at the White House for what officials say will be a friendly beer.

But the email has reignited the controversy and dealt Boston's police a severe image blow just when they and the White House were hoping to calm tensions.

The email allegedly written by Barrett lambasts Gates for getting into an altercation with police.

"I am not a racist, but I am prejudice towards people who are stupid," reads the alleged diatribe -- containing frequent grammatical and spelling errors -- against Gates and local newspaper the Boston Globe.

"He has indeed transcended back to a bumbling jungle monkey."

After releasing a Michael Jackson tribute last week with Diddy and Usher called “Better On The Other Side” The Game has come forward to say he got a call from the King Of Pop during the height of his beef with 50 Cent. Game says that Jackson contacted him to be the mediator in his beef with the G-Unit general. “I was on tour in Canada, sitting in my room, cutting my hair,” Game said of the call. “I was messing my hair up. Then my road manager knocks on my door. Boom, boom, boom. He told me, I gotMJ on the phone. I ran and snatched up the phone.” “He got to this one thing that makes me laugh, man,” Game said of the convo . “He said, ‘I don’t know how you’re gonna feel about this, but I want to ask you something. I don’t want you to judge me, but I don’t really know everything that’s going on between you and 50. But I want to be the middle man behind you putting this situation to bed.’”

Minister in Jamaica crime gaffe
By Nick Davis
BBC News, Kingston

Parts of Jamaica are plagued by gang-related violence
Jamaica's security minister has been forced to withdraw a remark that people killed by police can be considered collateral damage in crime-fighting.

Dwight Nelson was speaking to the island's police federation when he said the country was at war with criminals.

He also pledged to get a top team of lawyers to defend police officers accused of shootings.

Human rights groups say the island has one of the worst records in the world for police shootings.

Ask most Jamaicans what their number one concern is and they will say security and crime.

Last year more than 1,600 people were killed on the island. Of these, 222 were allegedly shot by the police.

Only one conviction

It is not uncommon in Jamaica for officers to come under fire, but it has been claimed that many abuse their positions when using their own firearms.

In an address to the Police Federation, newly appointed Minister of National Security Dwight Nelson said that Jamaica's security forces were involved in a war - and that in any war there would be collateral damage.

Mr Nelson was forced to apologise for these comments after criticism from human rights groups.

He issued a statement saying it was not his intention to imply the government would back unlawful acts, but it would support officers who used deadly force against criminals.

But Carolyn Gomes, who runs the human rights group Jamaicans for Justice, says there are too many unlawful killings by the police.

"It's unbelievable, in the past 10 years the police have killed more than 2,000 Jamaicans and only once one policeman was convicted for manslaughter," she said. "Only about 20 have been charged in that time."

Only a few days ago Amnesty International criticised Jamaica's security forces over the number of alleged killings by the police, despite noting a decrease last year. The government says it is planning to set up an independent commission to investigate.

Irv Gotti says he and Ashanti, the Princess of the Inc., will soon be parting company. He said they haven't been on speaking terms for some time, and the label head/reality-TV star says there's nothing he can do but end their musical and business affiliation.
"The relationship has run its course," Gotti explained earlier this week while visiting the MTV offices. "The chemistry of what's needed — we're in two totally different places. You're talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up."

Ashanti's last LP, The Declaration — her first in four years — came out in June of last year on the Inc. and was created with virtually no input from Gotti. The album was her first in-studio project not to go platinum. Gotti says it's because the singer deviated from their winning formula and tag-team effort.

"I personally believe for her to be successful, it took the energy ... when you seen her, it was 30 n---as around her, and she's the princess so nice and pretty walking through," he said. "The music was great, but it was the energy that was created. It wasn't just her standing there and singing a song.

"We don't really speak or talk or anything like that," he continued. "It's sad in a way. But in another, it's like it's all good."

Well, maybe not that good. Gotti said it is best for them to part ways.

"I don't think she can win. She needs some guidance with that," Gotti added. "But she's not thinking like that. Really, I couldn't tell you what she's thinking. So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I'm gonna just drop her."

At press time, a rep for Ashanti had not granted MTV News' requests for comment.

Gotti told MTV News that he's maintained the rights to all of his artists, including Ashanti, Lloyd and of course Ja Rule. The exec says he's working on a deal to reunite with his fellow Def Jam alumni Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles and Julie Greenwald over at the Warner Music Group. He says new albums by Lloyd, new rapper Newz and Rule are in the cooker. He explains the delay of Rule's The Mirror is because they are trying to craft a classic LP.

Young Jeezy, T-Pain, Mary J. Blige Lead Hot 97 Summer Jam LineupJim Jones, Jadakiss, The-Dream and more are also set to rock Giants Stadium on June 7.

New York radio station Hot 97 released a lineup of hip-hop, R&B and reggae artists on Wednesday (April 22), revealing a hefty chunk of its Summer Jam roster.

Mary J. Blige is leading the charge, with fellow crooners T-Pain, The-Dream and former Pretty Ricky lead singer Pleasure P also tapped to perform. Elephant Man, Mavado and Serani will be representing the reggae contingent, while the hip-hop acts include three of NYC's favorite sons: Diplomats Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, as well as one-third of the LOX, Jadakiss. Summer Jam vet and Atlanta general Young Jeezy is also on the bill, while "30 Rock" star and former "Saturday Night Live" castmember Tracy Morgan will host.

As always, the radio station is promising an unadvertised surprise guest.

Past showstoppers included Jay-Z bringing out Michael Jackson; Alicia Keys parading out a host of hip-hop legends, including Public Enemy; and Rick Ross showing up without his shirt to tear things down. Last year, Kanye West made headlines by joining Lil Wayne onstage for the remix of "Lollipop" — and admitting that Weezy had the best set of the night (that had to be a first!).

Heralded in the urban community as one of the biggest concerts of the year, Summer Jam is set for June 7 at its home of the past several years, Giants Stadium. Hot 97 has teased that more performers will be added to the bill in the days leading to the concert.

Hip Hop owns the charts again, as Rick Ross [click to read] third official album, Deeper Than Rap [click to read], cleared over 150,000 copies, taking the Miami Def Jam star straight to the top he rhymes about. The release out-sold Hannah Montana's soundtrack by over 50,000, as the Pop princess enjoyed her third week on the charts. Perhaps unfounded, the media's question of who would sell more, the Miami veteran, or Philadelphia suburban rookie Asher Roth [click to read], was answered with a margin of over 90,000.
Roth impressed the charts with a Top 5 debut, as the SRC/Universal album Asleep At The Bread Aisle [click to read] sold over 61,000, with a first day of release iTunes-topping day, and claims that his label under-shipped the hardcopy release to stores.
Bad Boy Records' Day 26 [click to read] was three slots behind, with Forever In A Day, joining Gorilla Zoe on the charts. L.O.X./D-Block member Jadakiss [click to read] fell four spots in the third week of his The Last Kiss [click to read]. Jada passes the 200,000 mark, putting him and Ross in the Top 10, as Def Jam representation.
Keri Hilson's In A Perfect World... [click to read] remained in the Top 15 for a fifth week, maintaining her status as Interscope's present R&B flagship artist, with considerable radio and video play.

UGK [click to read] fell 15 spots from the previous week with UGK 4 Life [click to read]. Pimp C's posthumous group album with Bun B still continues to defy expectations, as the group's nearly 20 year tenure with Jive Records comes to its final release.
Boss Of All Bosses [click to read], Slim Thug's [click to read] latest, may be a month away from six figure sales, impressive for a Rap independent. Pharrell artists, Chester French, broke the charts with a Top 100 release, of their Star Trak debut, Love The Future [click to read]. The group was featured in our very own DXnext section [click to read] less than two years ago.
West coast underground Hip Hop veterans, The Grouch and Eligh [click to read] of Living Legends, made a surprising-to-some chart appearance, with their latest, Say G&E! release.
